“SOLD” HAS A NEW MEANING

Woohoo, it’s finally Friday! I always look forward to Friday’s for several reasons but this one is a little different, and I was SO excited and nervous for it. I told y’all on Instagram that I had some huge news to share about Conner and I’s next journey, so thats what I’m dedicating this blog post about. PLUS this is my official ‘launch’ of All The B’s Wax blog being back in business. My thoughts are all over the place so I’m just going to post the picture and let that be the announcement… Hehe 🙂 I still cannot believe this is happening as I type this post. Anyone else feel like some of the most unexpected events happen and you question the timing or the purpose? This all happened so fast and so seamlessly that it all just made sense….Let me just tell y’all, GOD IS GOOD. GOD IS GREAT. AND GOD IS SO FAITHFUL.

DRUMROLL PLEASE…………………………..

CONNER AND I ARE BUYING A HOUSE!

I still cannot even take in the meaning of that yet- and I’ve had time to soak it in! LOL! So I know what you’re thinking… like what the heck? Why? When? How? What does this mean? Well I’m going to answer all of those questions, but first, WE ARE BUYING/BUILDING A HOUSE! AHHH!!

Ok okay, let’s talk details on how this all happened. I’m gonna make this as short and simple as possible because I’ll do a follow up blog post with more details.

  1. What the heck?– To this I say, I know, what the heck. We are 22/23 and buying a house together. Sounds insane and it probably is, but Gods timing > ours.
  2. Why?– So here’s a small little backstory, Conner lives in Dallas with his brother, and I’m still at home living with my mom. I always told myself I would live at home until I got married and my mom happily agreed it was okay to do, BUT, she’s also building and buying a new home too AHH!! So, this was a perfect time to move out PLUS Conner’s apartment lease is up in August so really the timing of this situation really came together. I’ll go more into detail later but essentially we both just decided to look at homes/places and an opportunity came up that we couldn’t pass up and WE ARE BUYING/BUILDING A HOUSE!
  3. How/Where?– A couple weeks ago we got a call from the DR Horton (our builder) and said we were next on the list to be called about a lot available. We looked at this community back in February, and told us there wasn’t anything available and would call us when there was something that came up. Well in the meantime we had looked at floorpans and settled on one we really loved (more later) so we put a hold check on the floorpan and like April 20th, we got the call saying if we were really in now was the time. We are going to be moving to Caddo Mills, which we are both super excited about. AHHH!!
  4. When?- Y’all this all happened so fast, I mean its been a total of 2 months since the beginning of this process to where we are now. CRAZY! So when I say we are building, we technically are. It’s going to be a brand new build, which is going to be so fun to watch the progress of. So we signed a contract on the house April 20th and if everything goes smoothly and there isn’t crazy hiccups we could be in the house as early as Mid September! We won’t officially know when right now but OMG- right around my birthday.
  5. What does this mean?– So this means we are building a house and our lives are about to change. Both Conner and I are extremely excited about this and so is both of our families, but we are also SO nervous about so many different aspects of this process. I know some of you might be like why house not an apartment? Why not rent instead of buy? I knew I wanted to buy instead of rent and I’ve been saving my pennies since I opened my savings account for this exact purpose and I cannot believe this is real life.

I have so many details to fill you in on since we signed the contract, what’s going to happen in the meantime, where we are going to live while this is being built, my thoughts an emotions on moving out and leaving my mom, the whole 9 yards. Im so happy the secret is finally out of the bag and I’m still so nervous and excited. The meaning SOLD now has a new meaning to both of us and is something we will always be able to say we accomplished. I’m beyond proud of conner and I’m very very very proud of myself. It’s an amazing feeling to say we are buying our first home together and we are so fortunate to be in this position so early in our lives.

SO WHAT’S NEXT?

Well, next up is giving you all the details about this crazy adventure. Home decor style, how to save money, what the moving process looks like, more home decor, ALL THE THINGS. If you are reading this still, thank you thank you. Please say a little prayer for Conner and I as we go into this next journey together and if you have ANY first time home buyer advice, you know where to find me!

LOVE LOVE LOVE life right now, see y’all very soon.

THE ONE WHERE I REVAMP

Wall located: 1313 N Riverfront Dallas, TX

Let’s revamp this creative space again, why don’t we! Hi everyone- it’s been long enough. I checked and the last time I was on this blog was June 2020. I don’t even wanna recap last year because we all know how that looked. INSANE. One thing I know for sure is that I want to revamp this blog, and SHARE SHARE SHARE. I am SO done with comparison, SO over feeling I have to be perfect all the time, and I’m SO ready to live MY life exactly how God intended me to live… through Him, and my through my own story. Can I get an AMEN! When I started this blog my junior year of college it was exciting and a lot of fun, and over time it quickly became a chore and I became less fun. I just had too many tabs open y’all, school and work is a full time task and I never wanted to resent starting this blog. There was so much pressure I had put on myself to handle this this and that and it was draining and totally not fun. Taking breaks is such a healthy thing to do and knowing your limits is amazing. I feel like Im in a place in my life now, where I don’t have too many distractions, I’m happy, and I’m feeling this fire inside of me to take this blog back and RIDE IT LIKE I STOLE IT!!!!!!!!

So what have I been up to since I was last on here? Let’s recap a little bit!

  • I got furloughed with Six Flags right when COVID hit hard. I cried and cried but I was okay. I watched my precious nephew that summer and it was the best.
  • I was out of a job for 4.5 months and in July, I got a call from Southern Roots to come back and run the creative and social, and it was one of the best decisions I made in 2020.
  • I started back at SR in August and it felt so good to be back, I picked up right where I left.
  • Holidays came around and it was all a 2020 blur- but SO fun with friends and family!
  • In January Conner and I both got Covid and quarantined together until we got better.
  • Southern Roots also announced that we were moving locations, and we opened in Feb!
  • We’ve all been smashing goals at SR in our new location.
  • Life has just been MOVING so fast. I cannot believe it’s May.

RECAP of some of my favorite looks from Southern Roots. Be sure you’re following us on instagram: @shopsouthernrootstx

Y’all know I could talk about every little detail on what events happened between June 2020 and May 2020, but I’ll spare the details and keep you up to date on what’s happening MOVING forward….. see y’all very soon. Like Friday soon!

XOXO!

Summer Arm Candy

Hi friends! It’s FRI-nally Friday. This week has gone by very fast for me (which you’re probably thinking like thank the Lord, this week has gone by so slow) But sometimes weeks go by faster for me- I don’t know why but oh well! You might remember me talking about how I love supporting small/local businesses but if you haven’t, then there you go. Of course because of how the world is right now, but my passion for supporting small business stems waaayyyy back. Anywho, I ran across this brand a couple weeks ago and instantly loved them. I’m talking Off The Chains Stacks! This business is in Rockwall, TX (go locals) and sells the cutest handmade beaded bracelet stacks!

A couple reasons I love why I love this business is 1. they are extremely affordable 2. they do customizable stacks and 3. they are local!

Her packaging is precious and duh I’m obsessed with this stack. The two bracelets I got are the Evil Eye Charm and the Ocelot Double Wrap. I know I’ll be able to wear these with pretty much everything and would even layer these into my Budha Girl stack. Seriously I wish I had found out about these for Mother’s Day! These bracelets are such a fun and easy gift for your girlfriends, mother in laws, or yourself OR these would be precious bridal party gifts. Just sayinnn!

Everything she has in stock is on her Etsy shop and if you needed to customize anything you can just shoot them a message on there or on her Instagram! I did want to mention that in addition to the normal beaded ones I have, she also does the letters and word bracelets! I’ll link my favorites down below:

I hope you love these bracelets as much as I do! Have a great weekend and see y’all next week!! XOXO

21 Facts About Me

Hi there, friends! Thanks for stopping by, if you’re a new follower here or just an old one wondering what the heck I’m all about… I’m about to share some random facts about me. You may or may not care to know these things, but in case you do here goes nothing! I also think this is fun because one day I will look back on this blog post and either still relate to these facts, or it’s long gone. So really this is for me (HA)! I would really love to hear if you can relate to any of these facts! You also may be wondering why I chose 21 things… first fact about me: I am 21- my birthday is September 10th (any Virgos out there)?

  1. Like I just said, I am 21 years old! I absolutely love being born in September. And technically I am still a ‘summer’ baby, which is fun. I am a virgo and am reallllly into reading my horoscope. T R U E virgo over here!
  2. POV: you’re at a restaurant with me, eating breakfast/lunch/dinner, and you will see me put one or all of the following things on my food ALWAYS! Salt, Hot Sauce, or Red Pepper Flakes. I love spicy food! I always pick the spicy option. And always add salt. People in my life really get annoyed with this but it’s just how I am.
  3. My love language has always been words of affirmation. But the last 2 years of my life I can tell it has changed and I think I am more of an acts of service/receiving gifts type. I feel loved when people do things for me or gift me something that makes them think of me. If you want to know what your love language is here is the test I took!
  4. My parents got divorced right after I graduated high school (S/O to class of 2016). I still live in my childhood home with my sweet mama and step-dad. I am so thankful I am able to still live at home and save money!
  5. I have 5 more classes until I graduate college in December. I take all online classes at Texas A&M University- Commerce and will graduate with a bachelors degree in Marketing. I have been able to balance being a full-time college student and also working full-time. I will say I have had to give up a lot of personal/social time but its rewarding looking back and talking to people about how I can do it all.
  6. This one is very simple. Beach > Mountains
  7. I have a cute little white chihuahua named Topanga- she was a rescue and supposed to be a family dog but quickly turned into mine. She does not leave my side y’all + I am the only one she trusts/likes. She’s precious!!
  8. Pink is my favorite color! Which is funny because I don’t have a lot of pink clothes > but a ton of pink items if that makes sense.
  9. Back to food- I have to have the temperature of my food and drinks to be either extremely cold or extremely hot! I will heat my dinner up sometimes if it’s not hot enough.
  10. I stick to a pretty basic and loose form of the Keto diet. I have found that being on a low carb balance has helped me feel better, I have more energy, and my skin is way clearer. Blog post coming soon about what I eat and how I remain on keto.
  11. I have a few guilty pleasures: McDonalds, Jack in the Box tacos, rom-coms, and listening to my top 5 songs on repeat 100x in the car.
  12. My favorite thing to do is to sit on a patio on a sunny day with my family and friends, listening to good music. My family does this a lot and I love it.
  13. I tan very very easily. It’s so funny because my sister has very fair skin and when we lay out I am 500 shades darker than she ever gets.
  14. Conner is my boyfriend of 2.5 years! We have gone to school together since we were in 2nd grade and remained friends up until we started dating. He’s the very best!
  15. I have always been very athletic and try staying in shape best I can. I played club volleyball along with school volleyball 6th grade-my senior year! I would have loved to go to school to play volleyball but it just didn’t happen that way.
  16. I am a Christian. I am the furthest thing from perfect, and I do stray away sometimes. I just know we serve a BIG God and will always welcome you home. I have never fought with this- I have been a believer my whole life. It’s not easy, but it is something I wake up and believe in everyday. He > I.
  17. My music library consists of a lot of Texas country, 70s and 80s music, rock, Christian music, and a handful of rap. There isn’t anything I won’t listen to!
  18. I have a younger sister and an older brother and an amazing sister in law who check off all the sibling boxes. We are all super close and talk everyday in our group message. If it’s a trending topic in the world… we are talking about it.
  19. My top bucket list item is to travel to all 50 states. Pretty simple, but its something I want to be able to say I’ve done.
  20. I am a SOCIAL butterfly. I feel like one of my best personality traits is to be friendly to people, be approachable, and making friends. And plus I love talking.
  21. Aside from my own instagram I own 2 other accounts. One is a food blog and the other is my online boutique. I will be doing separate blogs about both accounts but you can follow them here and here!

WHEWWW! Do you think you know me any better? Do you share similar facts about yourself? Thanks for sticking around and if you’ve made it this far THANK YOU!! I want to hear some facts about you! Comment or message me on Instagram. Have a great day y’all!

Where I shop

My most asked question I get is where I shop! I rounded up where I get all of my clothes from. I will say I do a lot of modeling for Southern Roots so I am able to try on so many things! My entire closet is mostly Southern Roots, but in the event I have something on these are the places I do my shopping at:

Supporting local businesses is so dear to me > I actually worked at Southern Roots for 3 years as a sales girl and then got promoted to being the social media manager so I know how much supporting small businesses is. I am in the works of starting my own small business boutique. But I do find a lot of my stuff at big box stores! I like keeping my options open and I love a good shopping spree! If you have any questions I am only a message away. Let me know where you like shopping!

Life

Dear Monday, I hope you brought wine

Hi friends! How’s everyone doing? This is such a crazy time right now. We are literally living in an event that will go down in the history books! In light of this pandemic we are in I thought it would be a good time to start this blog back up. I don’t know where the time went and why I had writers block but it happens. SO let’s get caught up on what’s been happening.

Right before we got sent into self quarantine, I was schooling and working! Then came the social distancing which included celebrating my sisters 19th birthday COVID-19 style. Filled with cake, donuts, cfa chicken minis, and cotton candy mimosas. Here’s a small recap of a birthday we will never forget!

We also got to celebrate St. Patty’s day, party of 1. Not much to report on that one just a mini product shoot with some of the best cookies ever!

Next came many nights of game night: Monopoly & Yahtzee! Learning how to cook new meals, indulging in everything in site, and countless walks around the neighborhood. FUN STUFF I KNOW.

I’m not going to lie, I thought in the beginning of this I would be self motivated and start working out, eating better, learn a new skill/hobby, and come up with some self care routines…. that has not happened. And I feel like that’s okay! We get caught up in going and going and going that when we have the time to relax we feel like we need to be going and going and going. We deserve to relax, or do any, and not have to feel bad about it. Now, don’t get lazy HAHA. But just remember it is okay to take time to yourself.

I have also had 4 weeks of doing enough to keep busy, but now I’m feeling motivated! SO here are some thoughts moving forward about what I want to get done:

  • Make a hair tutorial
  • Do a makeup/ skincare tutorial
  • Create a bible study to complete
  • Do an at home workout and share!
  • Get creative and do some fun photoshoot with home props/neighborhood finds
  • Get caught up on alllll my unfinished Netflix series
  • Tie dye a set & share!

The last thing to get caught up on is how Easter went! Usually we get with family and have a fish fry, sit outside and relax! But because we have to be self quarantined that’s not possible. BUT we created a new *tradition* French toast and quiche for breakfast, walks around the neighborhood, and sitting outside waving to new faces that walk by. I’m curious: what have you done in your stay at home time?🙌🏻☺️

Whelp, got to go take care of Conner (he just got his wisdom teeth out) and he needs a milkshake! Next time I write hopefully I will have more to share. Stay safe! Wash your hands! Stay home! Flatten the curve!

One day we will look back on all this and wonder why we dressed up like Lysol bottles.

XOXO!

Life

YOU GOT THIS!✨

Hi friends! Happy January 74th I mean 30th. It feels like this month has just gone on and on and on and I’m ready for February! Mostly because we are one more month closer to spring which means alllll the bright fun colors to wear, moods always seem brighter, and the house feels cleaner. But until then, I’ll focus on what’s been going on now. As much as I’m SO ready to be out of January so many things have happened that make this month feel so rewarding and I feel so accomplished!

So here we are 1st month into a new decade, a new month, and new beginnings:

Coming into 2020 with G O A L S instead of New Years resolutions has been huge game changer for me this year. At first i was like well what’s the difference? Well lemme tell ya🍯. Goals: this is what a person aims for with a direction to follow, to achieve your results. Resolutions: are a decision not to do something or change something you don’t like. I say all this because when I started jotting down things I wanted for myself in the new year they were all things that I could aim for and work everyday or gradually become closer to, instead of changing or not doing. So here’s just a few of the things I wrote down:

  • Save money: my goal is to put a percentage of each paycheck in savings to meet my end of year $$ goal.
  • Keep only what is needed in your closet, room, bathroom: my goal is to prioritize my needs vs. my wants.
  • Finish up college: yes y’all I am still here but ALMOST done. 5 more classes and it’s PEACE OUT. My goal is to finish my last 2 semesters with a 4.0
  • To build the social media for Six Flags: this isn’t that personal, but my goal is to really build the brand voice and become more active on social!

So far so good y’all, these goals have really come into play this month. I have successfully saved more month this month by prioritizing what I really need vs what i really want. This one is HUGE for me. And it feels good to save. I’ve also cleaned my closet 3 times, and my mom and I have gone through every drawer, closet, room in the house to declutter and MAN does it feel refreshed. Once school started it was game on, I had such a terrible mindset about finishing and I wanted to give up, until my advisor sent me the pre graduation checklist and wooo I am determined to knock this last stretch out. And as far as my job, I loooove it!! It’s a slow and steady race to this goal but it will happen.

If you’re still reading: I love you! Thank you! Now let’s keep going!

With allllll of that being said, I cannot wait to see what else I can accomplish and strive for. It’s been a busy month but it is so rewarding when I can look back at my goals and be like: YOU GOT THIS! AND SO DO YOU! Which brings me to my next point. I know we are all in the same but different boat. I know we all have things we are battling or something we want to change. I know you may be comparing yourself to someone you see online. I know you might want to quit or give up. I know you have these resolutions and you keep saying oh maybe next month or tomorrow or next year. I know all this because i go through it too, and i see other people going through it. BUT I am here to tell you that if you can start off with 2/3 goals. Yes goals. That you can see end results from, y’all it is so rewarding. And who doesn’t love a challenge.

Now that was a little dramatic just now but seriously, write down your goals and go full force into reaching them. It’s only month 1/12 but if the rest of the year can have moments like this then I’m here for it. CHEERS to only having 2 more days of this looong month. See you in Feb!❤️

Chapter 12 of 12

Ok you guys- how the heck is it December already?! I wanted to jump on here really fast to tell you what I’ve been up to the last month or so. So here we go:

Lot’s of people have asked me about how I edit my pics and its safe to say that I have officially launched my presets and y’all have gone crazy over them! A H U G E thank you to all the people who have supported this. If you want to purchase my presets they are $10 or a pack of 3 for $20!! I will link here: https://gumroad.com/brennacorreia

Next order of business: I have started my own small business!! It’s called Honey & Rhea and I launched this with the dream of starting my own online boutique. Clearly we have a lot of work to do, and I am working on getting more things to put out there. I am also working on a website so it will be easy to purchase things. A little story about the name because I know you’re like what thaaa… Nothing extremely sentimental or a lightbulb moment but it does reflect me, which is what I wanted. So the Honey part is to play off of this blog- which is where I started. B’s > Bee’s > Honey GET IT?! So then Rhea is my middle name- which I’ve always loved. I think it makes for a good second part of a business name. Thanks mom!!

You can follow my online business on instagram: @shophoneyandrhea

Last thing I want to talk about is the fact that I have completely finished my Christmas shopping. Funny story- I started on Thanksgiving at 9pm and did not stop shopping (with no breaks) until 4pm on FRIDAY!! I don’t know if that’s funny or just crazy. But it was a blast and I got a lot of great deals.

Now that you know what I’ve been doing, I can start with my fashion guides, amazon hauls, good finds and MORE!! If you are new around here THANK YOU for stopping by! I can’t wait to jump on here again and share some holiday guides all from AMAZON!! Ill see you next post!

Xoxo,

Let’s play catch up!

hey hey hey- it’s me! did you forget about this place? I’m sorry, let me remind you! WELCOME to All The B’s Wax: a place filled with Amazon finds, shopping gems, life hacks, and of course JESUS. I’m Brenna and I’m excited you decided to open this blog up! There’s a lot of new faces here so it’s fitting to play a little catch up. One thing I find very refreshing and humbling is to write down the things I’ve accomplished over a couple months. I like to cross things off my list and see what goals I still have left to accomplish. This post is fresh off the brain so this is an update on what’s been done, what’s going on right now, and what’s to come! (Thank you for scrolling this far, let’s get to it)

Okay, so last time I played catch up I left off finishing summer school. PAUSE. Yes summer school. It’s honestly the best (if you’re in college, I highly recommend this) so what’s been going on since then?

AUGUST:

  • my nephew was born at the beginning of August (he is so precious and is so adored by his aunt B)
  • I made a BIG life choice that wasn’t easy= taking on a job at Six Flags Headquarters.
  • Watched one of my closest friends graduate from nursing school.
  • Moved my sister in at college- WRECK EM TECH!
  • Got my hair chopped off. And I love it.
  • Went to Lubbock 2 times in a span of 2 weeks.
  • Flew on an airplane alone. And it was great.
  • Tried to keep a good diary but failed.
  • And prepared to turn 21.

SEPTEMBER:

  • Started classes again (Marketing major over here) and SO ready to be done.
  • Had a fiesta pot luck at work (now famous for my sopapilla cheesecake)
  • Turned 21 on September 10th and celebrated with my friends at Truck Yard in Dallas!
  • Prepared for Nashville (where I went for my bday)
  • Had the BEST time exploring my new favorite city!
  • Went to a family friends wedding.
  • Caught up with my SR family.
  • Shopped at the Sip & Shop hosted by Southern Roots.
  • Went to the A&M vs. Arkansas game at Cowboys Stadium!
  • Had brunch at the CUTEST place with Conner (my bf) and his family!
  • And tried to pretend it was fall in 100° heat!

OCTOBER: this is an unfinished list

  • picked up 3 dozen of the most beautiful and delicious cookies for a work meeting (and now famous for these too)
  • Made a road trip to Lubbock with my mom to visit my sister for Family Weekend!
  • Selling my Halloween Tees (message me for info)
  • Working on selling my presets (woohoo)
  • Getting my hair colored
  • Going to the Kacey Musgraves concert with my girls.
  • Working Christmas in Cowtown Oct. 12th
  • Going to Fredriscksburg (Conner planned a trip to the wine hill country for my bday)
  • And OBVIOUSLY going to the fair!

If you’ve made it this far, you deserve a cookie. I know this is a lot. But a lot has happened and it’s just getting started. I promise to be more consistent on here and post some outfits y’all have been asking about, amazon finds, and more! Thank you so much for caring about this blog & me! I’ll see you very very soon!

Sunshine Blogger Award

HI LOVES! Currently watching the bachelor in paradise + thinking about all the things I have planned this week + mentally preparing myself for the summer to end and school starting. I’m going to keep this post short and sweet because I got nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by @selfiesandootds!

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

This is a nomination by other bloggers who are bring positivity + creative content to this crazy IG game! This award recognizes each other’s work we admire. @selfiesandoodts has asked me 11 questions to answer + in return I get to nominate a few bloggers I’ve admired and followed.

FIRST, THANK YOU GIRL! THIS IS SO SWEET!

SECOND, IM READY FOR THESE QUESTIONS!

Question #1

“What is a staple item in your closet?”

– My most staple item in my closet right now are my favorite busted knee Free People jeans! And of course my 6 Birkenstock’s (hehe yes 6)

Question #2

“What is the smartest purchase you’ve ever made?”

– This is such a hard question idk how I choose. I’m thinking my most practical item that i use everyday (lol) would have to be my Corkcicle. Y’all. Every single day. It’s amazing, and I drink probably 3x more water everyday by having one.

Question #3

“If money wasn’t an object, where would you choose to live?”

– I honestly love Texas so much and don’t ever see myself leaving but money aside Florida for sure.

Question #4

“Most recent DIY you tried?”

– WELLLLLLL, this is not very cool but I made planting pots out of La Croix cans + succulents and it turned out so cute!

Question #5

“If you could only eat 1 food for the rest of your life what would it be?

– Tacos. Tacos. And more TACOS!!!!

Question #6

“When you’re feelings lazy, and don’t want to cook, what do you make?”

– This usually consists of making a trip to Taco Casa but if I’m making something I would make a BOMB charcuterie board because that’s so easy + honestly one of my fav things to make.

Question #7

“What color best describes you, and why?”

– Ask anyone, any time, any place. It’s gonna be pink. Hot pink, light pink, any kind of pink. Why? Well that’s my favorite color but I think it’s so fun, vibrant, and feminine. It also to me resembles approachability + I feel like I have that.

Question #8

“Craziest coincidence you’ve ever experienced?”

This is the hardest question so far. I’m going to have to think about this…. Nothing is surfacing. I’ll keep you updated!

Question #9

“What is your opinion of avocado toast?”

– This is going to be a yes from me.

Question #10

“Song-of-the-moment?”

– Rolling Stone by Whiskey Myers or Cover Me Up cover by Morgan Wallen

Question #11

“What is the #1 item on your bucket list?”

– This is #1 because it’s achievable, but I want to visit all 50 states and be a tourist in that state!

This was really meaningful + so fun to do. Time to go nominate a few people I admire! I’d love to share my questions on here + if you’d like to share your answers PLEASE DO!

  1. Best advice you’ve ever been given?
  2. What is your favorite place you’ve visited?
  3. What is your go to snack during the day?
  4. Favorite place to shop?
  5. What’s been your highest point in life so far?
  6. What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken?
  7. What is your dream job?
  8. What would you do with 15 minutes of fame?
  9. If you could trade places with someone famous for a day, who would you choose?
  10. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
  11. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Thanks again @selfiesandootds for nominating me for this. It’s been fun + challenging! I hope y’all have a great week + talk to you in my next blog post!

XOXO

Where have I been!?!

hello! nice to talk to you again! where have I been? what have I been doing? are you ever going to do a blog post again? what’s the tea?

hello! how are you today! nice to talk to y’all again! to make it short & sweet- I’ve been everywhere but here. yes I’m still going to do blog posts! and yes I’ve got lots of tea😉

I gotta catch y’all up on so many life changes! like so much has happened in a short amount of time. I’m sure you all have had moments like this in your life. here’s a quick recap of life in the last 4 months:

  • celebrated my sisters 18th bday
  • helped host a crawfish boil
  • planned a photoshoot in Waco
  • had a wine night @ SR
  • created a t shirt design contest
  • went to a bridal shower
  • worked the Spring Nutcracker Market
  • got an amazing opportunity (more on this later)
  • went to the horse races @ lost money
  • went to several grad parties
  • my little sister graduated high school!

so that’s my life in the last 4 months pulled into a very clustered, random, on the top of my head, list! I know what you’re thinking… Brenna! everyone goes through busy seasons of life. yes you are so right, and I began putting way too much on my plate that some things had to give. because I was balancing waaaaay too many things I wasn’t able to give 100% of myself to each thing- which is hard for me because I’ve always been able to do that. any virgos out there? yeah we like things to be perfect and try to control what we do. I was not choosing to let Jesus take the reins and I wasn’t allowing myself to Trust In Him. and I quickly fell into this exhausted state and I really was not up for social hour or hanging with friends, my words became hurtful, I was angry all the time. I let all these things pile up and to be honest they took a negative toll on my character. stress. anger. confusion. being lost. and that just wasn’t something I could deal with for much longer. relationships were hurt, my life was complete chaos, and my mind was filled with negativity and what if’s and doubt and more and more stress!!! (totally not cool) but because of all this i just have been out of it and become a ghost and standing back trying to figure out how to get back on track.

now that I’ve caught you up to speed & if you are still reading- things are looking up! *cue the happy music* life does go on. the stress does go away. the relationships do mend. but the what if’s are still there. I’ve had so many of those y’all it’s a tad bit dramatic😂 I was listening to a podcast and once I remember which one I’ll circle back around and let you know- but it was about a doubt, worry, stress, and how to balance the things you have in your life. very fitting for this season of life I’m enduring. and something that resonated with me was this little comparison/life hack:

fear is equal to your “what if’s” but God’s comfort is “even if”

y’all i seriously just got chills writing that because it still to this day reminds me of how I had taken my life by the reigns and had steered it down a path that was not good & was suddenly kicked back into reality! because I was focused on all my what if’s I lost sight of God’s “even if’s”. choosing to trust in Him & follow his heart is a daily choice. because I began to remind myself of this- I slowly but surly removed the stress, began to balance out my life, and become a much happier person!

life on your 20’s is a rollercoaster & even in all seasons of life JESUS IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL! trusting his plans, believing in yourself, and continuing to choose Him again and again is a life hack i will most certainly take with me into the next chapter!

thank you for sticking around- yes this was a long one, but friend- it’s nice to catch up with ya🥰

smiles,

Ya same. But this week since I’ve been so busy I haven’t gotten to go this week (sad day) but THANK YOU JESUS for Target online. So this blog post is going to be all things I found online!

A little Joy, goes a long way.

Hey you! I know I haven’t posted in a week but I just wanted to share with you this ADORABLE top from SR! Just a quick update on why I’ve been MIA this week,I’ve been working really hard to get all of these new arrivals pictured, and measured, and up and running to shop! Part of the fun with my job is picking locations to shoot pics at. I mean its kind of like a mini traveling session because Dallas, Texas is HUGE. And its fun to go out and explore new places that will make the clothes look better than they already do. SO this week I did a lot of planning and figuring out what would work best and look aesthetically pleasing with the new stuff we have been getting in. And y’all, when I say A LOT of new stuff, I mean a massive load from the UPS truck EVERY. DAY. It’s actually really fun because we all try to guess whats in the boxes, and once we unpack and go through our process we are already obsessed with everything that comes in.Its seriously like Christmas everyday. But anyways back to business. `

Let’s just talk about this outfit here for a minute. I know its February, and yes in my opinion it is 100% okay to be wearing white jeans. Ive been trying to spruce up my wardrobe because my dark and dreary “winter” colors are really starting to put a damper on my mood. This week in Dallas we were SO SO SO fortunate to have 3 consecutive days of spring weather and if it wasn’t the biggest tease EVER I don’t know what is. This little tank is so cute on. It has adjustable straps and criss crosses in the back. The colors are darling (reminds me of cotton candy) and it pairs really nicely with white jeans + it’ll look really cute in the summer with some cut offs. Both top & jeans are from Southern Roots and lets be honest, it gives me a lot of joy wearing these fun bright colors.

Top HERE | Jeans HERE

A little off topic but I promise it’ll circle back around, but these pics were taken in Bishop Arts District at Joy Macarons (huge fan of macaroons so if anyone is ever feeling generous, these are the key to my heart) anyways they have the cutest little saying on their I guess its a moblie macaron stand, but to “share the joy”. This little messages has come at the PERFECT time in my life. I swear God knows exactly what you need to hear and when. I’ve been a little on the “non” joyest side lately and this was such a good reminder to stop and spread some joy because a little really goes a long way. My goal this week is to make a list of all the little JOY’s I can spread and share and hopefully it will spark someone else to do the same! I hope you had a great week, I’d love to hear how you have shared the Joy! Comment down below 🙂

We interrupt 2019 to bring the BEST. NEWS. EVER.

I have to share the BEST. NEWS. EVER. Im going to be an Aunt!! So lets back up a little. I have the coolest big brother & sister in law in the history of big brothers and sister in laws so, the second they got married you best bet I was begging them to have babies. I feel like God made me to love and cherish kids. I don’t know but I’m obsessed with them. Long story short- 1.5 years later… IM GOING TO BE AN AUNT!! We actually found out right after Christmas, so its been a real struggle not to spill the beans. February 10th was the day I found out I would be an AUNT to a boy!!! Little guy- you are already so loved and adored, and we can’t wait to meet you.

12/30/18 The night we opened the best Christmas present & found out the best news ever! Yes we cried, and laughed, and hugged.

2/10/19- The day I found out I’d be a an Aunt!! This day was full of guessing whether it was a boy or girl. I wore blue because I wanted them to have a boy, but I was like 100% positive it was a girl. Like we were all SO shocked, but of course we were ECSTATIC.

To try and explain how happy and excited I am for this baby boy is just way too hard to put into words. But what I can put into words is how happy, and excited, and proud, and thankful that this baby has the BEST mom & dad EVER. Baby boy- you are already so loved and adored. I have now successfully started a baby boy Pinterest board & have so many things in mind to buy this little guy. Let the race for best/ most fun aunt (ME) start! Haha- sorry Payten & Emily.

Some other exciting news to share is that I am now on the LikeToKnowIT App! All of my outfits can be shopped on the app. DUH they will be on here too. Any aunt advice?? Ya girl has her hands full already.

My top 12 Amazon must haves!

Hey everyone, long time no talk. The last couple of days I have been catching up on work and school so I haven’t had a ton of time to write a new blog post, BUT I’m back. Ive been getting a lot of questions, comments, and mentions about the things I can’t live without. And tbh- I’m going to have to tell you it’s Amazon Prime, y’all. Not gonna lie, I have a new package like 3-5 times a day. Not allllll are mine, but I’ve been finding so many things I’ve been really wanting, but all for a low cost. 1. Initial Necklace- I love wearing my initial around my neck and when I found this one it was like BAM. There it is. I get so many compliments on this!
  2. Silicon Charging Station- This station is a great way to keep all your cords in one place and organized.
  3. Zip Around Wallet – I love a good look alike. Im obsessed with this wallet. It holds everything- including my phone. Best part is, people think its real!
  4. Double G Belt – Another great look alike. I’m currently wearing this belt as we speak. It’s one of my favs.
  5. Makeup Cleaning Pad – Its so important to clean your makeup brushes, I got this for Christmas and wash them all the time. Your face will thank you later.
  6. Makeup Brush Shampoo – This stuff leaves my brushes feeling so soft. And it smells so fresh and clean. Another side note- it doesn’t make my face break out!
  7. Makeup Brushes – Y’all, I’m not a HUGE makeup girl, but these things are expensive. Haha, but I’ve been using these for a while now and I love them. Not super expensive which is fine with me!

I would seriously LOVE any Amazon recommendations from you. If anyone wants to know- I have something coming in the mail tomorrow LOL!

Yes, comfy has become a 3/4 times a week look!

Sappy little appreciation post real fast about Conner! He definitely deserves a lot more of these. But, he has been SO supportive of this crazy wild last minute blogging thing. He is 9/10 times the person behind the camera. Which sounds crazy because what guy wants to spend his time taking pictures of a girl in a million outfits? I’ll tell you who, Conner Vaughan! But sorry ladies he’s taken. Anyways- he’s so patient with me when I’m having him retake pics and going to new places and changing outfits. Needless to say, GIRLS, get you a Conner Vaughan. Not because he takes tons of pics of me, but because he has such a kind heart and he’s such a blessing. I have been praying for a guy like him, and LORD!!!! You did it. But back to fashion… 🙂

Let’s face it, as much as we would really like to dress cute everyday… its just so difficult some days. I think as a fashion society whole, we are totally accepting the 3/4 days of the week looking comfy. And I’m for it! There are days where I literally plan to look comfy. Anyone else do that? Like I will lay out my athletic/sporty outfit on purpose. Theres just too many cute athlesuire places nowadays. The cute tennis shoes, which in my case are just for looks 😉 So many cute sweaters and pullovers. Its just easier some days to just be comfy. Thank the Lord for dry shampoo though because my hair experiences a lot of “comfy” days lol! This past weekend was chilly but the sun was out so it was great for layering. This look is what is called ONLY by Conner, the Referee look. There’s not a day that I wear these that I don’t hear a referee joke or ref call. It’s just something I.m going to have to get used to because these leggings aren’t going A N Y W H E R E. Details below.

Leggings: Ok here’s my take on the Lululemon ordeal. They are bottom line the very best. The price? Oh well, I’m 100% okay with paying for quality. The lulu leggings suck you in, keep you comfy, and they are extremely comfortable. Plus they keep there shape even after you wear them 100 times without washing them. So ladies, if you haven’t joined the club, you are missing out. I love this print and I don’t care what anyone says. 🙂 I’m wearing a size 2. Click here

Pullover: I got this soft sherpa pullover at Southern Roots. It’s Dylan which is the women’s line of True Grit. So its the real deal and this brand is solid. This style was new this year and I hope they bring it back. The v neck is different than the other 100 1/4 zip ones I have. We are sold out at Southern Roots and Dylan only has the black left! Click here

Sneakers: I have been OBSESSED with these shoes, y’all. I have seen them everywhere and I couldn’t live without them. They are Adidas which means COMFY!! They have a ton of colors including black that I like but these >>> Click here or Here or Here

Corkcicle: One of my NYR was to drink more water and thanks to this Canteen, its definitely been forcing me to drink more water. I love it! If you haven’t heard of them its been on Oprah’s favorite things so I mean it’s pretty cool. They are triple insulated, a no slip grip on the bottom, plus all the sizes they have fit in any cupholder. We sell them here at Southern Roots! Click here

I have so many cute things I’ve been obsessing over from Southern Roots & I can’t wait to show y’all! If you don’t want to wait here’s the link to the new arrivals! Talk to y’all soon 🙂 NEW ARRIVALS HERE

Spring- please bring your warmer weather NOW!

Let’s take a quick poll here. Raise your hand if you can’t wait until warmer weather. If you could see me in person right now all my hands and feet and fingers and toes are raised! Haha, seriously though, Spring brings so many wonderful things, including the cutest pieces of clothes to mix and match with. New patterns, fun night colors, and well warmer weather. Spring is also great to break out those white jeans you own. Some of you are scared of white, but ladies let me just tell you… they are a total game changer. It is the first step to transitioning and the possibilities are endless when it comes to “what do I even pair with white denim?” I know Spring doesn’t officially start for a while, but I don’t care! I have been ready since Spring left- so today is my official First Day of Spring 🙂

Let me just give you a little behind the scenes reason WHY I have been ready for spring for a while now:

  1. At SR we have been getting CRAZY amounts of Spring 2019 clothing in, and we’ve been getting them in since the beginning of DECEMBER. So I’ve been holding myself back from purchasing anything
  2. Warmer weather means you can have more flexibility with your outfits. Skirts, Shorts, & Dresses
  3. Brighter clothing brings out brighter moods in people
  4. It’s only a season away from SUMMER!!!

One of the perks of my job I mentioned about in an earlier blog post, is being able to see all this fun stuff we get in before we put it out on the floor! One of the perks about following THIS blog, is that you too, get to see things before it hits the floor (aka this top). This past Friday I took a few girls out to the Dallas Farmers Market to shoot for New Arrivals launching on Wednesday at Southern Roots. In the midst of running around snapping the cutest pics ever!! I might add, this cute wall was literally calling my name. Here’s the details of my outfit:

Shirt: This top is from Southern Roots and launches THIS Wednesday under the New Arrivals section. It’s so cute for spring paired with white jeans and wedges or sandals. Keep it around for Summer too, it’ll go great with your favorite cut offs.

Jeans: I got these at my other favorite boutique, Groovys, they are sold out but I found them off another website. They are adorable on especially the hem of them. The best part is, they are under $50!! Click here

Shoes: I’ve had these for SO long, I don’t even remember where I got them but I did a little digging and found some similar ones. Click here and Here

Earrings: Y’all- let me give you one keyword for every season… STATEMENT EARRINGS!!! This is probably another thing I am obsessed with besides handbags and shoes. These are handmade in Brazil, are SO lightweight, and come in multiple colors and styles. Me and my mom combined have like 6 pairs. They are also from Southern Roots and are called Trea Earrings. Click here

Belt: I have too many things I want in life to spend money on the real deal, so heres a great dupe I found off Amazon. I have the black and the brown and wear them all the time and get so many compliments. Your wallet will love you after this purchase I promise. Click here

I have successfully made it a week with my new blog! I hope y’all are enjoying reading it as much as I am writing it. Have a great week y’all!

My style defined…

Happy Sunday, y’all! What a crazy, busy week it’s been. Sundays have always been a great day to sit back and recap the week. If you know me you know my week NEVER looks the same, and each day something new happens. This week I feel very accomplished. I have successfully finished a weeks worth of homework way before the due date, I have organized and reorganized my closet, I have revamped the website for SR SPRING, did a really cute photoshoot for SR, AND celebrated my moms birthday! Also, this week I had an assignment for my strengths and weaknesses and although some were hard to swallow I feel accomplished knowing I can learn from it. In the midst of all this craziness I found time to really focus on what I want out of this blog. Up until this point I have laid out things about myself so you could get caught up of 20 years of my life in 3 posts. I feel like you know me pretty well now 🙂 But, what you don’t know about me yet is… what even is my style? Because yes I will be throwing in personal things, fun memories, great travel experiences, and even amazing food recommendations, this blog is going to be centered around FASHION! Which is something I have been getting a lot of comments about. So lets get to it shall we. This is where the real fun happens!

Pictured above is my outfit from Wednesday. It was FREEZING that day. I know I’m from Texas and it doesn’t get very cold a lot, but lemme tell ya- it was cold.

Shirt: It is the brand Wildfox- this one is from Nordstrom Rack and it was on sale for a STEAL! It is the softest thing I’ve ever owned y’all. Here’s the link to their website, but if you can find this brand on sale- its SO worth it. https://www.wildfox.com

Jeans: My jeans are from one of my fav boutiques (besides SR) Groovys. They have a great selection of denim for all body types & they aren’t afraid to showcase some that are unusual. https://www.groovys.com/collections/denim

Jacket: My mom gave me this faux fur jacket for Christmas and its from Poshmark. Here is a similar one I found: https://www.limelush.com/leopard-print-long-sleeve-faux-fur-jacket-with-pockets/

Shoes: These are the Adidas Superstars… OBSESSED. https://www.adidas.com/us/superstar-shoes/DB3347.html

So lets talk style… I don’t really have one tbh. I don’t have a set THIS is my style. I have so many its hard to even decide! One thing I will agree on, is that not having a style IS a style. I can be dressed up preppy, casual, sporty, and boho. Some of the things I have heard about my style is that I always try to incorporate color and patterns. And I incorporate I keep it simple but I can also throw in a stand out piece. As I’ve gotten older I definitely think my style has changed and matured, but I have also gotten more creative. Which is the best part about fashion, just putting things together and figuring out what you like and feel confident in. Out of all my outfits I wore this week, for my first FASHION post I wanted to showcase an outfit I was obsessed with! I can’t wait to see where this blog takes me.

Fashion

Shoes & Crossbody’s go with me like Frosting goes with Cupcakes!

Today’s outfit was put together at 6:15 this morning, which is how most of my outfits are thrown together, BUT… I was off to Dallas Market with the SR store owner, Caroline (my awesome boss) to help pick out SPRING 2019! If you follow Southern Roots I promise you’ll be pleased. We have the cutest things coming in and I already know 99% of it will be coming home with me. Which is one of the best parts about my job, hehe!

Details About my Outfit:

Handbag: Gucci Dupe from Amazon! Seriously the quality of this crossbody is kinda scary how much it resembles the real deal. If you are looking for that designer look but not ready to drop loads of money- here is your solution. It comes in a few other colors as well as a leather option. $35!!!

Sweater: I bought this sweater on a whim y’all. I was at a Holiday Market Show for SR- and we had this piece from Show Me Your Mumu and I wore it for display because it wasn’t selling as fast as some other things… I put this sucker on and SOLD OUT within 10 minutes. Good thing I put this on and knew it wasn’t leaving without me buying it. They still have a few left on their site I will link it. It’s such a different sweater than I’m used to but I get SO many compliments on it.

Vest: This vest has been my staple, go to, wear with everything vest. Its from the boutique I work at. We only have 1 or 2 left and its on sale originally $110 on sale for $20!!! Good thing is, we restock this vest in other colors for the fall. Its the warmest piece of clothing I own, and you can dress it up or down. I wear it with my leggings and t-shirts with tennis shoes and its way a great way to dress my comfy look up.

ShoesThese shoes are adorable y’all. I found them off a boutique I randomly ran across, called Aspyn & Ivy, and bought them in .5 seconds. I love the color and not gonna lie, I wish they came in more colors because I would have bought several. I originally bought them for me and decided to give them to my mom for Christmas, but good thing we wear the same size. They still have them in stock, too! Im thinking we will still get really good use out of them transitioning into spring and summer. They are a fun way to spice up an outfit.

XOXO

Life

Day 23/365 is NOT too late to start your NY Resolutions!

Glow-Getter

(noun): a driven busy gal who strives to achieve her goals in life while attaining a beautiful glow both inside and out.

Today was the first day in January I was actually aware that this month was almost over. I mean, time just doesn’t slow down for anyone. While it may be day 23/365 I don’t remember there being a rule that you had to start your New Year Resolutions on day 1. Let’s just have an honest moment real fast… I didn’t have time to write down a fancy list of things I wish to accomplish this year and begin acting on them ASAP. Just wasn’t happening. Life moves faster and faster each year. And although the days may be long and the weekends fast, the year does go by WAY faster. Yes- I have many things I would like to ultimately achieve this year, but if you’re like me… you need small victories but big dreams. What I mean by that is, I don’t need to check everything off my list all at once. I feel much more accomplished scratching things off slowly, even when they are “small victories“. And then eventually all these little things add up to the bigger dream/ goal. So, here I am day 23 of 2019, making that fancy list of things that I HOPE to accomplish this year.

My advice to you for Day 24: make that fancy list of small victories. Drink more water. Make that 4.0 this semester. Work hard and then work harder. But most importantly, do it all for YOU! Here’s my NYR:

  1. I do drink quite a lot of water, but not enough. DRINK MORE WATER
  2. Be more patient with people
  3. Read more fashion blogs/magazines
  4. Stay on top of my school (I’m so close to finishing)
  5. Make more time for my friends- they keep me goin when things get tough
  6. Give more words of affirmation to Conner
  7. Make more time to do things with my little sister (she’s going off to college soon)
  8. Read my Bible WAY more!!! And not just read- but learn
  9. Start my blog & have people read it!!
  10. This one is a bonus: I’d like to give back more. Whether it be to a charity, back to the community, my church, or to my neighbors.

Thanks for letting me share with y’all my small victory checklist. I’d really love to hear yours- because it might inspire me to make my goals bigger. Comment on my blog post or message me on Instagram or Facebook!

The job that is responsible for my shopping “problem”

Just like the title says, It’s Not Work If You’re Having Fun, it’s hard to believe that your first job would end up having the greatest impact on your life. In my case, that is the case. I got my first big girl job at the age of 17. In high school I played club volleyball and school volleyball which was pretty much all year long. My parents were generous enough to not FORCE me to apply for any job until volleyball was over. So, after I graduated I began my job search. I have ALWAYS had a passion for clothing and accessories so it was natural for me to only apply to places that would benefit my fashion needs. HA! After a couple rejections, I got my first interview at Southern Roots. I had absolutely no idea how to even talk in an interview. So there I went, no experience, no interview practice, just me. After a couple weeks of waiting I got THE CALL. I got the job! So, fast forward through training and first day and all that fun stuff I became an official Sales Associate at Southern Roots.

A little background on Southern Roots can be found here: https://www.shopsouthernrootstx.com/pages/about-us

Back to my story, I quickly became obsessed with working there. Its a clothing boutique, so what’s not to like. By the end of week 1 I’m pretty sure I had already spent more money than I was making but it comes with the job sometimes. I LOVED everything about working here. My co workers, my boss, even the customers. It seriously could not have been a better place to start a first job. So after a year and a half (2018) of going to school full time, and working part time, I was pulled aside and given the opportunity to take over the eCommerce & Marketing aspect of the business FULL TIME. HOW COOL Y’ALL. I still thank God daily that my boss had enough faith and trust in me to take on such a major part of her dream. Being that it’s a small business its crucial to have someone taking time to showcase your business. I never thought in a million years that person would be me. I remember my first couple months of working here I was so intrigued with taking pics for the store, captioning photos, planning photoshoots, and ultimately running the online store that I was just dreaming of the day that person could be me. Fast forward another year (2019) here I am today, going to school online full time, and working full time as THAT person. And y’all, its not all roses and butterflies, but the reward of knowing I am doing both and I am doing it to the best of my ability is SO SO worth it all. I am not here to brag about the accomplishments, just simply sharing that dreams even the small ones, do come true if you put your mind to it, believe in yourself, and just go for it. Eventually I would really love to share some of the things I am responsible for at SR and all the really cool things I’ve learned but here’s a small cliff hanger 😉

Here’s another one of my lists I was telling you I like making, except this one is shorter.

  1. The clothing is just way too cute to pass up
  2. I get to see the products we receive before anyone else, so like its kinda cool that I get first dibs, hahaha whoops!
  3. My entire family, even my step dad, shops there. I just can’t escape it even if I could.
  4. Did I mention that we also have a men’s section?
  5. I have memorized my credit card number and, hello, I’m in charge of our online website/store so I have EASY access to what I want & when I want
  6. If you are in any way, shape, or form, a shopper… listen here… I am not one to push things in peoples face, but this stuff is just way too cute to pass up.

WILDFLOWER CO. x BRENNA

Hi Monday! How are we doing today? Woke up this morning feeling so refreshed and refocused. Spent the weekend unplugged as much as I could be and let me just tell you- it was so good for the soul. This Monday has been off to a great start & hoping it bleeds into the rest of the week!

Kicking off with a super fun collab with a small business I ran across and instantly fell in love it! One thing I am super passionate about it supporting local businesses and ones who I can tell put 100% of their heart into. I’ve always been drawn to small businesses and it’s been a blast being able to talk with these business owners and see first hand their products!

THE WILDFLOWER CO. x Brenna collab is here and to say I’m obsessed with Sheyanne and her business is an understatement. Let me just share a few things I love about Wildflower Co.

The Wildflower Company is home to handmade, crafted, and designed clay earrings by the sweetest soul, Sheyanne. These earrings are made to bring confidence and joy & that’s exactly what they do. Her Instagram is so fun and colorful which brings me joy and each design she makes is totally different and unique. I love how she pictures each earring and brings her passion to life! Which is another reason I love supporting her. Let me show you which pieces I got!

THE CUTEST PACKAGING YALL!!

The honeycomb earrings and these stacked stars have me with all the heart eyes! Clearly need everything “bee” related because of this blog! And a neutral pair to go with any outfit. PLUS look how cute that Texas necklace is.

All of this to say, I would 100% purchase any of her earrings for gifts and to treat myself. I’ll link her website so you can go see for yourself how cute all of her earrings are.

I cant wait for y’all to fall in love with the Wildflower Co. It’s been so fun shooting these pictures and sharing with you. Have a great week! Cheers🤍

Inside my makeup bag!

Happy H U M P daayyyy! I cannot believe it’s already the middle of the week. I guess it seems like it’s gone by so fast because of the holiday weekend. I hope everyone had a fun and safe memorial day weekend. The rain really but a damper on plans but we still made the most out of it. Crawfish boils, fish frys, and lots of friends and family. For one of this week’s blog posts I thought it would be fun to share my top products I keep in my makeup bag at all times. I’ll save my skincare products for another post but this will be beauty and makeup!

Honest hour: I am not a makeup person. I can remember my mom taking me to get makeup for the first time and saying no to half of the things she picked out. I just am such a weirdo when it comes to how things feel on my skin. And I definitely do not want it to look like I tried too hard to do my makeup. Another honest hour moment here: I still use a few products I’ve had since my senior year of high school. (WHOOPs) IF you are a makeup genius please don’t get mad at me! When I say a couple I mean the same blush and I have 1 eyeshadow palette that I no longer use but its still almost full. But over the years I have really tried to stick with products I know will work on my face and will feel lightweight and pretty subtle. My hope is to one day get better at makeup and be a little more “professional” with the products I use, but for now I will stick to my low maintenance things and live life.

Here’s an inside look at what is currently in my makeup bag and what products I use. I’ll go into detail about what I love and why I use the products below. If you are interested in any of these products you can click on the picture above and it will take you straight to the links!

  • Tarte Shape Tape Concealer– I am in the shade ‘light-fair neutral’ and use this under my eyes and to highlight my T zone and bridge of my nose. Lately i’ve been using this as my overall foundation base.
  • Anastasia Contour Kit– I use the lighter shades to go over my concealer under my eyes and the bronze shades to contour my face. My favorite part of my makeup!
  • Gimme Brow Eyebrow Gel– My holy grail of makeup. I cannot go out of the house without putting this stuff on my eyebrows. It’s like mascara for them. I use the darkest shade I think a 6 because my eyebrows are black.
  • Mac Blush– This i’ve had since high school and it still is trucking along. I am in shade Burnt Pepper and its such a pretty color on your cheeks.
  • Translucent Powder– You can use any kind of setting powder but I use this to set my concealer and to kinda set my face in the places I get oily.
  • Dior Mascara Blackout– The only mascara I use and will use until further notice. You’ll see why when you use it too. Another holy grail in my makeup routine.
  • Morphe Setting Spray– OBSESSED with how this feels on my face- goes on so smooth and lightweight which is a plus. And it keeps my makeup looking good all day.
  • Makeup Setting Fan– I have had this thing for like 3 years and I will never not have this in my bag. I use this to dry my setting spray. You will thank me later.
  • Face Razors– I do this about once/twice a week to remove the peach fuzz. Your makeup goes on so smooth after you do this, and your face is so soft.
  • Eyelash/brow Serum– This was an amazon find that I read amazon reviews on. I use this day and night everyday. Helps your lashes grow!

A little lengthy post this time but I had a lot of good little nuggets to share. By no means am I a beauty expert but if I help 1 person up their game, that’s a win for me. Of course there are a few things I add in (eyeshadow, lip stick, primers…) but this is the basics and things I cannot live without. And they are currently in my bag as we speak! Let me know if you have tried any of these or have any questions! Talk to ya later!

XOXO,
